Character Designs

These are art commissions I purchased for concept art of the characters for my upcoming projects. I instructed the artists to design with certain colors, eyes and facial expressions, and hairstyles and fur-styles in order to symbolize the characters' personalities and roles in their respective stories. As someone who watched Disney films - especially animal-based Disney films - all throughout her childhood, I wanted to see what the characters would look like if they were inside Disney cartoons.

The Snawfus
Benjamin

This is for my original dark fantasy film still in pre-production. Benjamin is a wolf-like canid. I designed him to look terrifying but also with a torn-off face - one eye and one hind leg - to symbolize him as an empathetic hero everyone first assumes is the bad guy but is really the good guy.

Animal Land

This is for my upcoming musical adaptation of my father's allegorial novel, Animal Land, about animals descended from escaped rebellious circus performing animals who created their own self-governed society in a savanna-like place, Animal Land.

Everett

I gave him shorter hair and a longer beard to make him look elderly and the dark brown color is symbolic of uniqueness and how he sways the story.

Dominick

I gave him a beard to portray him like a middle-aged professor and a brighter color to represent joy and optimism.

Milton

As he is a teenager, I gave him a haircut I picture with younger people, and his brown color is symbolic of uniqueness and how he sways the story.

Lizzy

As the only female camel character, I gave her a more feminine hairstyle, and a light color to represent innocence, as she is a teenager.

The Chimps

Getting more Disney-ish emotion was the goal with this concept art.

Stewart

As a heavy labor worker, I wanted him to look stronger and more buff than other elephants.

Elliot

I gave him a blank expression to represent unintelligence, a very light pale color and skinny body to portray him as a weak and frail lion, and a stylish hairstyle to demonstrate his desire for pretty looks.

Margaret

I wanted most of the horses to be white, as that is how I picture circus horses.

Mauri

I wanted big eyelashes to portray her as the love interest character and a body build that I feel represents a strong, tough, brave woman.

Stefani

I had her eyes slanted inwards to portray her as a promiscuous, sly character. And light-colored eyes to portray a less-scary lion.

Rhonda

As a minor antagonist who leads her pack, I wanted her to look more dominant and buff than the other hyenas.

I had him look more intimidating with the angry-ish eyes but also elderly with the long, scruffy chin and muzzle.

Terra Ludos

This is for my upcoming original series, Terra Ludos.

Clarembra

Long hair covering her face to represent shyness; black hair to represent witch-like powers; she is clairvoyant.

Partumace

A more introverted expression. An intellect character.

Opacesus

A more muscular build to represent desires for labor.

Virongo

A blank expression to portray her as someone only impressed with herself but with a hairstyle I feel makes her look more mature.

Serbaeva

Longer hair to portray sophiscation to his leader bully personality.

Flestent

An angry, tall/big face and muscular build to portray a "big" bully character.

Safulten

Artwork inspired by Disney.

He is Serbaeva's dog. A pitbull-type dog with Doberman colors to help symbolize Serbaeva's character but white color added to soften the dumb and naive personality of Safulten.
